All About Paul...

I was born in Santa Monica California November 2nd 1959 to two beautiful people.

My mom Janice moved back to Forest Hills Queens where she originated. My father was an aspiring actor.

When I  moved to Long Beach,   a friend of mine  played  Miles Davis for me and I was hooked.  Not that I gave up rock, but a whole other dimension opened up for me.  I then  latched on to, McCoy Tyner, Lenie Tristano, Bud Powell, and Herbie Hancock. I started studying with Lenie, unfortunately 6 months later Lennie had to go into the hospital for kidney failure, and then died. The dye was cast, and off I went.

Liz Gorrill was my next teacher who Lennie recommended to me. She was great! A little esoteric, but cool! The next candidate was Hal Galper, a really cool, but very complicated sort of guy.

My first real working band was a band called, Back to Back.

We started in 1977. The next band was another Long Island band, Full House.

I Then, moved on with a well know Long Island band called Vixen, and was with them for two years. It was this band that I got my first taste of touring.  After Vixen I got a call from my life long friend, Todd Wolf. Todd asked me to play with a hard hitting blues project called Troy and the Tornados. I played with Todd for two years. Todd, eventually moved on to be the guitarist for Sheryl Crow.

During the 80's I started making a lot of contacts, and going to lots of jam sessions. One day I got a phone call from Bobby Rondinelly who I had played with about 5 years earlier in a band called Rondinelly. He told me he was working in a band called Warlock. He said that the main person who was the singer needed keys, her name was Doro Pesch a heavy metal lady, big in Germany. So after three European tours, and one state tour, and recording a CD with Doro Pesch & Gene Simmons, it came to an end.  Around 1994 a very good friend, Corey Davidson,  told me to send a tape to Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple & Rainbow. He was re-forming Rainbow again. This news was very exciting for me. I was with Ritchie for three years, made a CD for BMG, did two European tours, one Japan, one USA, and one South American tour. It was an experience I'll never forget!

Then I get a phone call by a good friend, Tony Bruno who I've known since the early 80's Long Island cover band circuit, that he was playing with a well known German artist, NENA, who wrote 99 Luft Balloons. Now this tour will go down as the craziest fun tour I've ever been on to date. You had Tony Bruno of Joan Jett, and Michael Bolton on guitar, Sean Kennedy on bass, and the legendary Tommy Price of Billy Idol fame on drums. The next phone call came from my friend Sean Kennedy who knew a guitarist by the name of Frank Anunziato, who was putting a special kind of tour together called, The Teen Idols. It was comprised of Davy Jones, Peter Noon and Bobby Sherman. We toured the states in the summer of 1998 for eight weeks. A great experience. Once again the phone rings and at the other ends another old friend from the early 80's, Al Petrelli of Widow Maker with Dee Snyder, Alice Cooper, and Megadeath. He was involved with a band called Savatage that spawned an off shoot called Trans Siberian Orchestra or TSO for short. They were putting together a second version of TSO to tour the West Coast in sync with the East Coast for the holiday season. I went down to SIR studios and met a great guy by the name of Bob Kinkle, who played the keys and co- wrote TSO. What a great experience that was. Soon after that tour, I bought a G4 dual processor with Logic 7 and have been making and producing music since.

In 2002 I went and auditioned for a  soul revue band called The Sensational Soul Cruisers, where I remained for over five years.

I am now promoting/producing my original music, which I've been working on, for quite some time. For a free download go to the media page and email me your feedback. Thanks, Paul.
